Ultrasound image of a diffuse sclerosing variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma (left panel) shows an ill-defined hypoechoic mass with microcalfications. The pathologic specimen (middle panel) demonstrates an ill-defined infiltrative lesion with calcifications, which is well correlated with the specimen radiograph (right panel) showing diffuse scattered microcalcifications involving nearly the entire thyroid gland as well as cervical lymph nodes. From the article by Kwak et al., in this issue, pages 1491–1492.
