Erratum
In the article "Melatonin Phase-Shifts Human Circadian Rhythms with No Evidence of Changes in the Duration of Endogenous Melatonin Secretion or the 24-Hour Production of Reproductive Hormones" by Shantha M. W. Rajaratnam, Derk-Jan Dijk, Benita Middleton, Barbara M. Stone, and Josephine Arendt (The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism 88:43034309, 2003), there is an error in the reported duration of the endogenous melatonin profile. It was reported, on p. 4305, that the duration of high melatonin in the second constant routine was 8.9 h for melatonin and placebo trials. The correct durations are 9.75 and 10.3 h for the melatonin and placebo trials, respectively. This error in no way changes the conclusions of the paper or the statistical significance of the results. The authors regret the error.
