Solid-Phase Triiodothyronine Radioimmunoassay

STANLEY J. SIEGEL*, WILLIAM F. LINE**, NORMAN S.-T. YANG***, ANDA KWONG and CLIFFORD FRANK{dagger}

Research Department, The Wilson Laboratories 4221 South Western Boulevard, Chicago, Illinois 60609

Anti-triiodothyronine serum covalently linked to agarose produced an immunoadsorbent that retained 50% of the activity of the soluble antibody, and was as specific and sensitive. In addition, the binding of antigen to antibody and the separation of the bound antigen and free antigen are achieved in one step eliminating the necessity of additional antibodies or adsorbents.
